Faux Copper Eyelet
Learn how to make a faux copper eyelet using Photoshop
Now that you’ve seen the copper brad we created in the other video. I am now going to create an eyelet. To do that, I am going to zoom in, because you really need to get into the detail in order to do this correctly.
With the elliptical marquis tool selected, click on the shift key and drag a fairly small circle in the circle. You will have to move it around just a little bit to make sure it is centered as best as possible.
With the layer that the brad is on selected, you’re going to click delete. You will see the rounded eyelet forming with the shadows and the glow. To add the darkness in the center of the eyelet, (where it would go through the paper) select the elliptical marquis again. Create a new layer right below your eyelet.
Shift and drag, so that it’s covering more than just the center. That’s open. Then fill it with black. You can deselect. But of course, we don’t want the center to be black black, so we’re going to change the opacity probably to about 50. You can adjust this to what your needs are and how it lo
oks on your layout.
