Kids Love Their Own Birthday Scrapbook

One fun idea for a different type of scrapbook is to dedicate one scrapbook for your child’s birthdays. There are so many different birthday scrapbook layouts that you will never run out of ideas and kids absolutely love having a book dedicated to their very own day.

I have seen birthday pages using a balloon theme. You can choose a balloon-patterned paper for the background paper and clear photo corners or even use balloon shaped frames for your photos. I have even seen the photos themselves cut in the shape of balloon. This theme makes for a bright and happy page.

Other scrapbook ideas for a birthday book would be to design the page to the theme of the child’s party. If, for example, they had a Princess Party, you could decorate the pages with jewels, a tiara, a page with a flowing cape, etc. Alternatively, you could design a castle and have the photos in the windows and doorways.

If your son had a pirate party, a great scrapbook design would be a ship complete with sails, mast, and treasure chest. If you are not much of an artist, you can find a lot of these as die cuts. Many scrapbooking stores have rooms in the back where they have workspace and allow you to cut your own die cuts which is much more cost effective than purchasing pre-made ones.

Of course as the children grow older their tastes will change and it is always wise to follow their lead. Say you have a child that is into a style or fashion that you do not care for, remember for whom you are ultimately designing it. Even if it sets your teeth on edge, go ahead and use those crazy color combinations and embellishments. It will help your teenagers feel that what is important to them is important to you and they will feel accepted by you.

Birthday scrapbooks are always a big hit with kids. They love to relive their special day and never tire of looking through them, no matter how old they get.
